1 of the most important part of your beats is the INTRO!
Do you know why?
It's because people will start judging your entire beat on the intro...
you can make ur intro mysterious.... you can make your intro totally different from what the main beat sounds like.
you can add effects to your intro.
you can slow your intro down to half speed and make it sound cool, if you have a VST like Gross Beat ( for instance )
You can put a low pass filter or a high pass filter on it, and add automation to make your intro sound really cool.
the options are endless....
generally you want your intro to be about 15 seconds but that's not a rule of law.
Your intro can be 2 seconds or it can be 60 seconds.... it's all about what "feels" good to you...
music is a feeling and your beats are no different...

the melody and beat making part of the video is in the beginning and middle, and then the intro is at the end. This was done to reflect the real-life way that i add intros to my beats.
To make it easiest, i do it AFTER the main groove of the beat is established.

it don't matter which daw u use, because the principles are all the same...
1. create an infectious melody
2. make sure there is rhythm in your melody before u add any drums
3. make sure you mix and level your beats right, so they KNOCK the right way
4. your *intro* is KEY because it sets the tone for your whole beat...
